Sovereign Zero

Welcome Cadets, to the Sovereign Zero playtest. Here are some instructions on how to play.

• You may use either keyboard or a controller (Xbox controller preferred)
  • Keyboard
    • Movement - WASD
    • Rotate - Player ship will look at mouse cursor
    • Fire - Left Mouse Click (hold for continuous fire) 
  •  Controller
    • Movement - Left Joystick
    • Rotate - Right Joystick
    • Fire - Right Trigger (hold for continuous fire)
  • Quit Game
    • Ctrl + Q
  • Pause Game
    • Escape Key

NOTES: 

• 8/2/2024
  • Added music to the game, provided by Monstercat
  • Fixes to the bullet sounds not clipping when bullets are destroyed in the scene
  • Reduced subsequent bullet sfx when player holds the "fire" key
  • Significantly more waves of enemies, 17 in total
  • Boss fight, "Muvixus", awaits you in wave 17!!

  • Added new ability "Star Crash"
    • 1 charge
    • 45 second cooldown
    • Send forth a flurry of stars upwards towards all enemies.

  • Added a new "Warp Speed" powerup
  • 2 charges
  • 15  second cooldown
  • output a forward projection of your target destination and quickly travel to it, destroying everything in your path
  • Added new "Shield" powerup
    • 1 charge
    • 25 second cooldown
    • Surround yourself with a blue shield making you immune to all damage for 8 seconds.

  • Lots of graphical improvements
  • Fixes to enemy random placements, enemies will no longer overlap with each other

  • XBox Controller is broken, player rotation will not work properly. Please use Mouse and Keyboard in the meantime
  • UI bars in place for player hit points and weapons heat
    • weapons bar turns red when the weapons are about to overheat
    • weapons bar turns purple when the weapons are overheated
